The film was permitted with age restriction (only for adults 18 years of age or older) and cuts (many scenes were prohibited). However the film was permitted to be shown only in contract with the second part of the film. Furthermore the main title of the second part of the film had to be changed. The new title was: "Sodom und Gomorrha. II. Teil - Die Strafe". Some scenes of the second part were prohibited.
